About you
You have a lot to give and want to contribute to your wider community. Our rewarding volunteer roles include accompanying customers on social outings and excursions, community transport services, assisting the Meals on Wheels team or increasing social connections. We are looking for:
- A collaborative approach with like minded people to help customers feel empowered in their own homes and the community.
- For some volunteer roles, an open Driver’s Licence and willingness to use own vehicle for volunteering may be required.
- An empathetic approach and respect for confidentiality.
- Willingness to undertake a National Police Check.
What we can offer
We will support you through your volunteering journey with an induction day and ongoing support. Rewarding volunteer programs available include:
- Suncare Community Transport: Assisting customers to attend appointments, shopping, and personal errands using Suncare fleet vehicles, between 7.00am and 4.00pm.
- Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme: Increase social connection by visiting customers in their home or in residential aged care, providing friendship and companionship.
- Suncare Meals on Wheels Kitchen: Assist with food preparation, dishwashing, and cleaning. Weekdays between 6.00am and 12.00pm.
- Suncare Meals on Wheels Deliveries: Assist with deliveries of nutritious meals to customer’s homes. Weekdays between 7.30am and 10.30am.
- Suncare Maroochydore Community Centre: Assist in social activities such as group morning teas, luncheons, community outings, art and wellbeing activities. Weekdays between 7.00am and 3.30pm.
We can support your career aspirations through learning and development opportunities that could lead to paid employment. Volunteering with Suncare may also satisfy mutual obligation requirements for jobseekers over 55 under social security legislation.
