Personalised support

Your needs and goals shape everything we do, so no two support plans look the same. We take the time to understand what matters to you, then build support around it.

A team who cares

Our support workers are local, experienced and genuinely invested in your wellbeing. You'll see familiar faces who get to know you and the way you like things done.

Flexible services

From everyday help around the house to nursing and allied health, we're here when you need us. As your needs change, your support can change with you.

A better way to care

Our approach is simple. We listen, we partner with you, and we focus on what matters most.

We believe care should feel like a conversation, not a checklist. That's why we focus on building genuine connections, understanding your goals, and supporting your independence every step of the way.

As a not-for-profit aged care provider, we've been part of Queensland communities since 1970. Today we're a registered Support at Home provider, which means government funding can help cover the cost of your services.

Every dollar goes back into better care, not shareholders.

“You have cared for me going on 10 wonderful years. Such high quality care. You also cared for my Dad in his final years. THANK YOU SUNCARE."

What services can I get with a Home Care Package?

A Home Care Package can support you in many different ways - it all depends on what matters most to you.
You might use your package for practical help around the house, allied health services, transport, equipment, personal care, social support, or even home modifications.

At Suncare, we’ll work with you to build a care plan that’s flexible, tailored and designed to help you live well, your way.

How do I apply for government-funded aged care?

You’ll need to start with an assessment through the Australian Government’s My Aged Care program.
The first step is calling 1800 200 422 or visiting myagedcare.gov.au to register. An assessor will chat with you about your needs and help you understand what supports you’re eligible for.

Need help getting started? Our team can guide you through it - just give us a call.

What's the difference between HCP and CHSP?

Both are government-funded aged care programs, but they work a little differently:

  • Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) is great if you only need a little help here and there - it’s more like entry-level support.

  • Home Care Packages (HCP) are designed for people who need more regular or complex support - and can be used for a wider range of services.

If you’re not sure which one’s right for you, we can help you understand your options and what’s available in your area.

Can Suncare help with transport or social outings?

Yes, absolutely!
We can support you with transport to appointments, shopping, and community activities - and we also run social groups and outings designed to keep you connected and doing the things you enjoy.

Whether it’s a lunch group, craft morning, or day trip with new friends, we’ll help you stay involved in your community.

Find your next role with Suncare

With roles right across Queensland, there's a good chance we have something that fits your skills, your location and the life you want to live. Whether you're starting out, looking for a change, or coming back to work, we'd love to hear from you.

Every role here helps older people live well at home and in their community.

Making Sense of the New Support at Home Levels

Got questions? We're here to help.

How do I know when it's time to get a little extra support?

Many people start considering support when everyday tasks become more difficult, take longer than they used to, or begin impacting their confidence and independence.

Getting support early can help you stay safe, active, and living independently for longer.

Is aged care only for people with significant health needs?

No. Many people access support while they are still active and independent. A little help with everyday tasks can make life easier and help maintain wellbeing and quality of life.

Why do so many older Australians choose to remain at home?

Home provides familiarity, comfort, community connections, and independence. For many people, remaining at home with the right support contributes positively to their wellbeing and quality of life.

What should I look for in an aged care provider?

Look for a provider that takes the time to understand your needs, communicates clearly, offers flexible support, and focuses on helping you live independently and confidently.
