Suncare is proud to be associated with the ongoing work towards a more inclusive and reconciled Australia and this year again participated in the Aunty Betty Memorial Walk in Dicky Beach. The weather was perfect as the Gubbi Gubbi Dance Troupe performed traditional dances and music. Traditional custodian Lyndon Davis then led a short walk on country providing information and stories about the area.

Local Elders, Aunties Floss, Lauraine, Tina and Rhona shared memories and the importance of Sorry Day and working together to unite all those who live in this beautiful country.

NAIDOC Week (2-9 July) is also an opportunity for all Australians to learn and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. An Aboriginal Painting class led by Aunty Paula Wootton at the Suncare Community Centre saw fun mix with education.
