Understanding Support at Home
Support at Home is the Australian Government’s new program that helps you live safely and independently at home with the right level of support.
What Is Support at Home?
Support at Home (SaH) is the new national aged care model that will replace the Home Care Packages, Short-Term Restorative Care, and Commonwealth Home Support Programme from November 2025.
It’s designed to make it easier to get the right services at the right time — so you can stay independent, connected, and supported in your own home.
How It Works
After an assessment with My Aged Care, you’ll be assigned one of eight levels of Support at Home funding. This determines the types of help you can access and how much support is included.
Each level offers different service options, from light-touch assistance with daily tasks to more comprehensive support involving nursing or allied health.
The Benefits
- One simple system for all home care needs
- Fairer access to funding across Australia
- Flexibility to change your care as your needs evolve
- Clearer budgets and service choices
Your Care Partner will work with you to understand your level of support and make sure your plan reflects your goals and lifestyle.
