Funding and Contributions

Learn how government funding and your personal contributions work together to pay for your home care services.

How Funding Works

Support at Home is funded by the Australian Government, with contributions from customers based on their income.
Once you’ve completed your My Aged Care assessment, you’ll be allocated a funding level and an individual budget. The government covers most of the cost, and you may be asked to pay a small contribution.

Income Assessment

Services Australia assesses your income to decide if you need to make a co-payment. This ensures everyone contributes fairly based on what they can afford.

Your Contribution May Include

  • A basic daily fee (set by the government)
  • An income-tested care fee (if applicable)
  • Any additional care or private services you choose beyond your funded plan

Transparency and Choice

Your Care Partner will explain your budget clearly and show how each service fits within it. You’ll always receive a monthly statement detailing your funding, services, and any fees — no surprises.
