The Aged Care Code of Conduct sets clear expectations for the behaviour and professionalism of everyone working in aged care, including contractors and volunteers.
The Code requires you to:
- Act with respect for individuals’ rights to freedom of expression, self-determination, and decision-making
- Treat all individuals with dignity and respect, valuing their diversity
- Respect the privacy of individuals
- Deliver services safely, competently, and with care and skill
- Act with integrity, honesty, and transparency
- Promptly raise and act on concerns about the quality and safety of services
- Prevent and respond to all forms of violence, discrimination, exploitation, neglect, and abuse
