Meeting the Aged Care Quality Standards

Quality care is at the heart of what we do. Find out how to meet the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and deliver the best outcomes for customers.

The Aged Care Quality Standards set the benchmark for how care should be delivered to older Australians. These standards are designed to ensure that every customer receives safe, consistent, and respectful care that enhances their quality of life.

As an Associated Provider, you are expected to:

  • Align your services with the standards: This means reviewing your practices and ensuring they reflect the requirements for safety, dignity, and wellbeing.
  • Train your staff: All team members must understand the standards and how to apply them in their daily work. Keep records of all training completed.
  • Demonstrate strong governance and risk management: You should have clear systems in place for managing risks, reporting incidents, and continuously improving your services.
  • Collaborate with Suncare: Work closely with us to support compliance, share feedback, and address any issues that arise.
  • Implement feedback and complaints systems: Make it easy for customers and staff to provide feedback or raise concerns, and ensure these are addressed promptly and transparently.
  • Provide evidence of quality: Be ready to show how your services meet the standards, including documentation of outcomes, safety measures, and customer satisfaction.

By meeting these standards, you help ensure that every person in your care feels respected, safe, and empowered to live the life they choose.
