When Suncare customer Ray began experiencing more frequent falls and noticing a decrease in his mobility, he knew he needed to make a change.
With the desire to remain living at home safe and independently front of mind, Ray decided to utilise Suncare’s Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC).
While many of Suncare’s Allied Health and Clinical Services operate long-term, our STRC looks a little different.
Usually provided for eight weeks, STRC includes all Suncare’s typical in-home and support services.
For Ray, this meant accessing two allied health services, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, and getting an electric recliner chair at home.
Funded by the Federal government, clients must undergo a My Aged Care assessment before starting STRC.
With up to 100 clients at a time involved in the program across each of our locations, STRC accommodates a broad range of people suffering ongoing and chronic health conditions.
Ray explained his experience was simple and enjoyable because of his Occupational Therapist Bianca and his Clinical Care Coordinator Aimee.
According to Ray, the communication and assistance provided by Bianca and Aimee was second to none.
